Cori Hash began her work with KEJC in 2004 with a two-year Equal Justice Works Fellowship. Ms. Hash is a graduate of the University of Texas, with a degree in Latin American Studies, and the University of Texas School of Law (JD 2004). She is fluent in English and Spanish. Ms. Hash works at the Maxwell Street Legal Clinic offering legal assistance to low-income immigrants. She represents clients in family-based immigration, citizenship, asylum and other immigration legal matters. She also focuses on the issue of economic exploitation of immigrants, specifically unpaid wages, denial of public benefits and consumer fraud. She supervises a part-time paralegal, two contract translators, legal and paralegal interns and volunteers. Anne Marie Regan worked as a staff attorney for the Louisville Legal Aid Society for twenty years and as staff attorney to a U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge for a year before joining KEJC in 2002. She has handled a variety of complex cases, including a successful federal class action that challenged Kentucky Medicaid long term care cutoffs. A recognized expert in consumer law, Ms. Regan often has testified on consumer loan proposals in the General Assembly. Ms. Regan graduated from Case Western Reserve University and received her law degree from Catholic University in Washington, DC.
Richard J. Seckel has worked at KEJC since 1979. He often has served as an advocate on poverty law issues before state agencies and the Kentucky General Assembly. Today, he coordinates legal services task forces in consumer, family, housing and public benefits law. Mr. Seckel is a board member of the Homeless and Housing Coalition of Kentucky and the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky. He holds a BA from Oberlin College (1974) and an MSW from West Virginia University (1979). Before graduate school, he volunteered as a boycott organizer for the United Farm Workers, AFL-CIO.
Xochi Weiss-Salinas received her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Eastern Kentucky University. Ms. Weiss-Salinas works part-time at MSLC coordinating the Naturalization Project which is privately funded by a grant from the American Dream Fund. Fluent in English and Spanish, she is responsible for the design and implementation of the project which is intended to assist eligible Lawful Permanent Residents through the process of naturalization and promote greater civic participation by immigrants. She provides direct services to clients which include interviewing, pre-screening, and assisting in the completion of immigration forms and other documents. In addition, Ms. Weiss-Salinas schedules and monitors ESL and Citizenship classes, identifies resources and handles outreach and publicity for the project.
