Board Member Spotlight: Andrew Chandler

KEJC's board members work tirelessly o ensure we run smoothly and have the essential support we need to keep operating.

Because their hard work deserves to be recognized, we're starting a new blog series – each month, we'll spotlight one of our board members so you can get to know them better!

This month, we're happy to spotlight and welcome new staff representative board member, Andrew Chandler.

Andrew (he/him) is a staff attorney and Equal Justice Works fellow at the Legal Aid Society in Louisville, KY. Andrew litigates welfare rights issues on behalf of low-income clients in state and federal proceedings involving Social Security disability benefits, food stamps, unemployment, Medicaid, state childcare benefits, and other forms of basic economic relief.

He began working at the Legal Aid Society as a student in February 2020 and graduated from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in May 2022 before being admitted to practice in Kentucky upon bar passage later that year. While attending law school, he was published by the University of Louisville Law Review and awarded “Best Note” by the editorial board for his work covering unlawful source-of-income discrimination against Section 8 tenants. Andrew is a proud dues-paying member of UAW Local 2320.
